*HOMESTAY ACCOMMODATION Vs PRIVATE HOME ACCOMMODATION
HOMESTAY ACCOMODATION: The majority of our host families are classed as Homestay accommodation. This accommodation offers an authentic 'family' experience, often including eating breakfast and dinner with the Host and their family. The host will be available to offer help and advice to the student as well as take an interest in their well-being. There will never be more than four students in a Homestay at any one time, and students will not be placed in the same homestay as others of the same mother-tongue, except by special request. English is always the main language spoken in the home. Junior students are only ever placed in Homestay accommodation.
PRIVATE HOME ACCOMMODATION: Accommodation on a room only basis includes shared kitchen and bathroom facilities and often a main living room. This accommodation offers an independent lifestyle and is more suitable for the long stay student. Self-catering accommodation does not provide the same family atmosphere as a homestay and may not benefit language students who need to practise their English at home. English may not be the first language spoken and students may be of the same mother tongue.
